This filter worked very well for our 3500 gallon Koi pond. The media is easy to clean, just shut off the pump, swish and rinse in the water standing in the filter, and drain or vaccuum away the dirty water. We outfitted our filter with a bulkhead and ball valve for just that purpose, it worked out beautifully. My pond ran for three years with no water clarity issues at all, we have since moved, and I hear the filter is running strong this summer.
