I have the 750. It is a strong, quite, energy efficient pump. Mine is still going strong after 2 years of continuous duty.

I tried using it on my QT tank but was not very impressed. Seems more suited for use a mechanical filter. Mine came with black foam pads but I had to basically unhook the filter and remove from QT to clean it.

It is a good magazine and I still enjoy reading it but I have to admit I have been leaning towards Koi Nations as of late. It is not something I can really point my finger at, they are both good magazines but it seems Koi Nations has more for the ocmmon hobbyist like myself.

Very well written magazine. The cover is always an attention getter and even the photography inside it top notch. The articles are great and seem to have something for everyone. I usually read it from cover to cover when it get it.

I use this both in my static filter and my moving bed filter all DIY barrel designs. It works great. Take a few weeks before the Kaldness really gets to boiling. Whether moving or static cleaning is very easy. I don't have to even get my hand dirty.

Used as my last line of of barrel filters basically to catch anything left over from my moving bed filters. I use it only to catch any fines left over. Seems to do the job.

I tried it a few years ago as bio filtration in my barrel filters. Seemed to work well and I could stuff quite a bit in my Kormex tubs but I eventually decided to go with static Kaldness since I dont even have to get my hands dirty to get the kaldness clean.

I have the black Matala and it works great as my 1st mechanical filtration. It will only capture large solids but I use it in stages with the other Matala. I have never had a problem with clogging. I have been using it for a little over 2 years now.
