I have removed far more of this product than I will ever use. It may well harbor beneficial bacteria, but is not a very good mechanical filter. I have used in crates to make plant stands(bio-towers) and use loose to breed gambusia, I will throw it in any where I can but do not depend on it as any sort of mechanical filter...WHAT A MESS...

What a difference this product has made in the cleaning time it takes. Needed a 3000psi washer to clean other medias. Changed all my clients to matala. I am using in salt and fresh water aquariums as well. Every one is very pleased. Have used this material to convert pressure cartrige filters to bio filters and operated all season with 1 cleaning in the fall...I use very little americo pads or any thing like that any more as they were too difficult to clean. When I asked a local supplier why he was not promoting the product he said there was no money in it I questioned him. he said he could only sell it once as it practically lasts forever????

Have a few of these, as they were not very user friendly. They have a tendency to clog and the backwash handle breaks. I have blown a few up as they cannot handle the volume they are sized for. The pressure guage is a joke as you will blow it up before you ever get a pressure reading. I recommended local pond store not to carry, I can use as I know their problems, OVERPRICED UNDER PREFORMS ... Dont touch it youll break it.....JOE YAN-YOU-Len POND SERVICE &KOI+RESCUE

Was recommended this product on a search for dimilin, i operate a Koi Rescue and brought home more than koi this season. I used proform la as recommended. 3-4 Weeks later the fish are doing poorly, and the lice did not begin to fall off as described. I have treated for a forth week now and am still looking for dimilin. have lost one month waiting for results and must start over at this late date(season) the price was good as I had to treat 10,000 gallons. Good money out for bad. The where to buy button on this site is not active active and I still cannot find. I believe Jungles Anchors Away uses dimilin as active ingredient but seems expensive. Very dissapointed with proform LA some one please help me find DIMILIN at most reasonable cost.
