It can also be useful to temporarily reduce nitrite toxicity in an emergency situation. It does not impact pH. For pH control, use Pond Acid Buffer™ or Pond pH Buffer™.

Don't buy this silly stuff. You can get 40 lbs of 99.5% PURE salt from Lowes for $6. its the exact same thing as this. They just put it in a fancy jar and charge you 10x the amount because it say pond on the jar.
