pH Up Slowly raises the pH of pond water (making it more alkaline) without harming delicate pond fish or aquatic plants.

I used this and moments later my koi freaked out. Maybe i added too much, I dunno, but they did not like it. I did a fast water change and everybody seemed ok. i threw the stuff away.

This is a very costly product as compared to Baking soda. Baking soda does the same action but better and cheaper. I have used this product in a QT only because it was given to me. It provides little buffering to the pH and does not last very long.

After reading tons of info on koiphen, your best bet to maintain Ph would be adding baking soda. This will help stabilize the Ph for at least a couple of weeks. Cons: you might have to purchase the ph down just in case if ph goes too low. Baking soda will maintain at or around 8.0. Not a must have, but if your wallet is tight, visit your local grocery store and pick up some baking soda
