I tested Lim's pre-filter on my pond, within a few weeks it stopped working. Lim came out several times to fix & check. I finally opened the filter and the inside grid had collapsed. The assembly was extremely shoddy. I paid a pretty penny at the time ( $ 1,000 wholesale), I removed the unit, W. Lim was supposed to pick it up & refund me. I am still waiting 4 years later. No warranty, no support, no quality. There are fara better products out there with customer support. I do not recommend anyone purchasing this item. It is still sitting in pieces in my warehouse.

I am very partial to Fritz Guard, it does not neutralize ammonia such as Amquel does & doesn't claim to but it will neutralize chlorine, chloramines, some heavy metals as well as buffer PH. It helps fish with their slime coat and also has vitamins which assist fish with their immune system. I have on occasion emptied pond, double dosed the fresh tap water w/the Fritz and added the fish thereafter without any loss or shock to the fish. Great product to use on the fish directly if the fish has a sunburn ! I have been using Fritz Guard now for 30 years and doubt I will probably never switch. All ponds that my company maintains use Fritz as well. Fish all seem happy.

The Pearl of Paradise tanks are in my opinion the best made and the customer service is excellent. You get what you pay for and I have had these tanks for over 20 years. Easy to set up, easy to fix. I use them often when cleaning ponds and as quarantine tanks. As a precaution, I always line them with a plastic tarp. Plastic is cheap compared to some residue on the tank which could contaminate fish.

Review:
These pumps in my very humble opinion beat out any and I mean any other pump on the market. There are two models, the Variflo 4x160 and the Intellifo. Yes they are expensive pumps but they will pay for themselves within the year. I use the 4x160 on my pond, it can run from 340 RPM all the way to 3750 and every other setting in between. I run it on medium which is equivalent to a 1 HP, can't even hear it and when backwashing my large filters, I ran it full force which translates to approximately 3 HP ! Warranty is excellent compared to some other companies out there and chances of a problem is close to none.
I believe that in a normal circumstance, this pump will reduce your electrical cost by no less than 1/2 if not more.
My house is solar so my bills are very low, even lower since I changed to this pump.

Filter should be rated for a pond 1/2 the size, the media it comes with should at inception be changed with Matala padding and it will work much better. Fine for a small pond w/goldfish but not for any more serious or large pond w/koi.
Good for temporary tanks etc, as an emergency filter.

Review:
Probably the easiest filter media to work with, easy to cut into any shape, last for a very long time, easy to clean and saves you allot of time in doing so.
I have replaced gravel in old classic Adachi style filters - down flow in pond gravel bio filters - with Matala and the results are excellent. If you do not want to look at the top layer, simply cover with 1 inch or so of gravel and voila.

Let's be honest, it happens - a pond looses cycle and you need to get it clear now. Happens to the best of us and when it does, this product will help you get the pond back to clear without shocking the fish and burning their gills. I have tried various other products and so far this is the safest and best tolerated out there. Of course, if the pond keeps loosing cycle there are underlining reasons, but for that once in a while occurance - this is the answer.

Review:
Having an overcrowded pond, I had to add additional filtration and was looking for a media that would finish my water & give me more bio support. I filled a 30" sand filter w/over 4 cu ft of K1. 75% of my water flows through it and OMG...what an amzaing difference it made. In my over 28 yrs of having Koi, I have never experienced such perfect crystal water. It is worth the price and if you do use in a closed system such as a sand filter, place a landry bag on your backwash outlet to catch K1 that might flush out.

This used to be my top choice of food but unfortunately there were too many issues with pellet sizes, formula changes and eventually I stopped using it.

Product Reviewed: EA Show Koi Food
Product Rating:
Review:
My Koi have been on EA Show since 06/2007. Within a few weeks the Hikkui on several females started to vanish, fade away and all that is left is a pale pink patch, no more lumps & bumps. The colors have intensified, whites are whiter, as well as reds & blacks. Even lost colors have come back. It is the most common sense food out there, I keep thinking of when the last Koi met up with Ocean fish ? Not only is this food perfectly balanced, it is not depleting our oceans - this is a "green food".
I have switched all my clients ponds to EA food, using both Health for pond quality Koi & Show for higher quality Koi. Price was an issue but because you use less, in the long run it is more cost effective and also fish being stronger & in better health cuts back on medication etc.
To me, this is a win win food !
Try it.
