I made the mistake of adding fish to my pond immediately after building it. I should have it cycle. But I had endless ammonia problems and so I added this. I no longer had to worry about ammonia and it tested 0 every time.

I took out the pads that came with my bio falls and skimmer and replaced them with the blue matala pads. Far better filtration and much easier to clean. Best pads on the market imo.

I have 6 of these around my pond. The replacement bulbs are a bit expensive, over $10 each, but they give lots of light and hold up very well even during the winter.

I am not a huge fan of UV's in general, but decided to add a secondary filter system to my pond and caved in and added a small UV to it because I get green water every year. It has stopped that problem and so I am happy with it. No leaks and I haven't had to replace the bulb in over a year.

I had a retro bottom drain over the liner and it didn't work very well. So I pulled up the liner and installed the koi toilet. Its far superior to the retro drain and the bottom of my pond is very clean.

When I first built my pond I didn't put in a bottom drain. Realizing later I needed one I put this in. It just kinda worked, but not great. It also clogged on me which was a HUGE pain. So the following year I pulled the pond apart and put in a proper drain from under the liner. That worked much better!

Every spring I get string algae and was told to use this stuff. I tried it one spring and while I still got string algae in the spring, it was less then previous years. Not sure its worth having the blue water though.

I use this pretty much year round. Keeps the pond very clear and I have almost no health problems with the koi. I have rocks along the edge and I thought maybe I would have tons of muck trapped between them so I drained my pond last year to wash them out and found almost no sludge in there. I am sure this stuff is the reason it all stays so clear.

I really like the large basket that never clogs, even when full. I get a lot of leaves and my skimmer doesn't keep up. That's why I choose this pump. It runs well and is nice and quiet which was also important to me.

This clogs easily, but also cleans easily, so its not a big problem. I use this as part of a small secondary filter system running a small filer and and UV. No complaints about the pump except it wold nice if the prefilter didn't clog as easily.

I got this because I was sold on the clay pellet media. I thinks its better then plastic media found in most other filters. This is my main filter for my 3000 gallon pond. It does backwash easily and keep my pond very clean.

Picked one of these up at a koi show. Very happy with it and it was discounted for the the show, so even better. It can be very heavy when full of water, too heavy for me to lift. But the koi were moved safely without having to lift them out of the water which can be dangerous.

I found this leaves a bit of undissolved clay on the bottom of the pond. Almost like sand. Koi clay is great to use, but it should dissolve completely, this product doesn't.

My neighbor had a chemical toxin in the pond. I suspect from rat poison that was used in the yard. The fish were dying quickly. I had him buy this and we put it in a mesh bag and the ones that were still alive all pulled through just fine.

I got a bag of this because I ordered some koi from Kodama and they were having a special on it. I was very impressed with it and will probably order more. Its a good fresh food with great ingredients and good digestion with the koi...meaning very low waste. It says its year round, but in my area the koi stop eating it around 55 degrees or so.

I used this all last winter. It was great because I was able to keep feeding down to 45 degrees and the koi loved it. It seems to be to be the best winter diet available and its a very good price too. I actually got some growth over the winter as well and because they ate most of the winter I had very few health problems in the Spring.
