Lacking the space or appropriate location for a permanent quarantine system, I recently purchased this QT set up and am very pleased with the results. It it easy to maintain, and my water parameters have met or exceeded those in my main pond. After doing quite a bit of research looking to fill my specific situation, I have to say this system has fulfilled my needs and expectations for maintaining a safe, comfortable place to temporarily house new koi, or treat sick fish as the need arises. It has also proven both economical to purchase and maintain. Assembly is easy, and though not pictured, this unit can be broken down and easily stored in 3x3x4 ft. cardboard box when not in use. It holds approximately 360 gallons in both the tank and filter system combined. I believe larger units are also available if desired, but this size can easily handle several tosai or much larger fish as the need warrants.

I use this pump to run an air lift filter system for a portable Quarantine Tank of 360 gallons (including the filter). It runs like a champ, plugged in 24/7 for months at a time, and sits right out in the rain, sun, you name it --- and never a hiccup.
I have complete faith in this pump, were I to 'lose it' for even a short while my biomass in the filter would start to die and foul such a small body of water very quickly, likely jeopardizing the health of my koi in quarantine.
One added bonus, the thing is so quiet I must stand directly over it to even hear a very slight humming sound. Add that to the fact it is energy efficient, and you've got an unbeatable product. It retails for $160 at full price, but I've seen it for $100 at times on the internet --- a good value at any price.
