I use this because it is what is available at the local garden/pond store. I believe 1 ounce treats 1,000 gallons so it goes along way. Does the job!

Clay was good but for the money you don't get very much! Love the container. Put other type of koi clay in it because I like it so much.

Best clay out there! Really helps with my blanket algae problem and keeps water clear. Also enhances koi color. Also like to put it in my homemade goldfish gel food.

I added this filter as an add on to boost pond filtration and have been more then happy with it. It is easy to clean because it has a bottom drain, the matala mats are very durable and can be used for several seasons, and the filter doesn't slow down when it is dirty. I am moving and leaving my other filter but will take this one. I'm going to put it on my QT tank, I think it would be perfect for that.
Only cons I can see are that it is hard to hide because the return needs to be next to the pond and the inlets are for hoses, not flex pvc.
