Laguna Filters

Overall Rating:
High Performance pressurized pond filters with integrated UV sterilizer/clarifier
Laguna Pressure-Flo Filters are high performance water filtering systems that keep pond water clean and healthy. These all-in-one filters provide mechanical, biological* and UV sterilization and are designed to work in tandem with a solids handling pumps such as Laguna’s Max-Flo.
They also feature a revolutionary Backwash-Cleaning System that easily cleans the entire surface of the foam filters without opening the filter. This patent-pending system is one of a kind. Backwash cleaning can be done easily and comfortably in a few minutes without opening the lid. This feature ensures that the filters perform at optimal levels for many days and prolongs the time between full maintenance sessions. An easy-view cleaning indicator signals when it’s time to perform backwash cleaning.

The units can be installed in or above ground.
EPA Registered

* Pressure-Flo 700 does not have a biological filtration chamber

This was my first filter I ever owned, since moving up to a bead filter Ultima 2 6,000. This filter would struggle to keep up. Water leaked into my UV housing causing the light to burn out. It was necessary to constantly clean it. It tried hard but really could never keep up! It would be perfect for a small pond maybe 200 gallons with very light fish load , but it certainly won't work well for above that. Make sure to correctly size your filter with your pond. This was the mistake I made when first learning. I since learned filtration is the heart of the pond and you can NOT skimp on it! It will only bring work and heart ache if you do! Over filtration is better than under filtration! I run a 6,000 gallon Ultima 2 bead filter with a 4,000.gallon pond, this works wonderfully! I don't believe these smaller filters are made for larger ponds. They might say up to 2,000 Gallons but its Not the case! Carefully choose your filtration, it will save you time and money in the long run!

These are one of the few small filters that I actually like. The construction of the valve is a bit flimsy and expect to replace parts after a few seasons. But the overall design is very clever with the scrub bars to clean the sponges, the built in UV and the large section for media at the base. All for a very reasonable price. Also, the quick release adapters are smart and can be changed easily to fit flex hose or threaded PVC.

I had the laguna pump and filter combo set up for a couple of years before I enlarged the pond. The pump was great, the filter worked well too but it was a bit hard to clean the sponges. Ever with the scrub bars and backwash I found I still needed to open it up at least once a month and clean the sponges with the hose. But other then that it was still a great little filter for my small pond and it was very easy to hook up.

We got the 1400 as an upgrade for our goldfish fish pond and it was much better then the little tetra PF we were using. It has a built in UV and back washes easily. The scrubber sponge cleaning things are nice but don't get it as clean as I would like, so once a month I still have to open it up and hose out the sponges. But for the money it has been a very nice filter.

This was my first filter on my first pond. The little thing did its job well for many years until I enlarged the pond and went with something bigger. I had the 2100 on a 1000 gallon pond and no complaints at all. Never broke or clogged and was pretty easy to clean. I still have it, even though its not hooked up.

Good solid filter for the money. Easy to clean and the built in UV is a nice feature. Perfect for smaller sized ponds with a low fish load.
