Leaf Baskets

Overall Rating:

The Waterway Leaf Trap fits Sequence 750 or Sequence 1000, PerformancePro Cascade, or Tiny Might pumps, and requires a "mate adapter" to assure a snug fit.

If you will be using any of the Wave Series, Sequence 750 or Sequence 1000, PerformancePro Cascade, Iron Might or Tiny Might pumps, and are planning on placing the pump before the filtration system, it is required by the manufacturers to have a leaf trap/priming pot in order for your warranty to be valid.

These are a must for any external pump that doesn't already have a built in leaf pot. You might be able to get away from using a leaf pot if you have two things. A) the pump must be below water level so the line always stays primed and B) there is some other form of mechanical filtration before the pump to keep leaves from getting into the impeller. For example if the pump pulls through a skimmer or settling chamber. And even still these only cost around $70 and you pump costs several hundred or more, its a good investment that will extend the life of your pump.

Pretty much the industry standard. Very strong and well made and very rarely have any issues with them at all, and usually its because of the gasket being damaged. All external pumps that are not self priming should have one of these installed to protect the pump.

Very good product. I have the 2" basket on a sequence 750 and it keeps all the debris that go through inside. Make sure the strainer's hole is facing the part where water is coming in, otherwise water flow will decrease and all the algae and what not will get stuck in front of the basket.

I highly recommend these to anyone using external pumps, and I would never run my pumps with out one. They are a great pre-filter and keep algae and other unwanted stuff out of your expensive pumps intake, and are great insurance against repairs. Leaf baskets are easy to clean with a stiff brush.

Great product. Needs to be larger to reduce daily cleaning requirements. Baskets tend to crack around the rim.

Very durable made priming pot. Easy to install and no teflon tape needed. Best is purchased with pump since you could get a better deal. Usually retails for around 50 bucks
