Filter Carbon

Overall Rating:
Carbon has the ability to "catch" certain chemicals that occur in water by absorbing them. In ponds, the chief role of carbon is to tie up the chemicals that cause discoloration and odors, which are then removed from the system periodically as the carbon is discarded. Filter Carbon

Carbon is a good filter, but you must rinse very well before using it or you will turn your pond will turn grey. Great for absorbing out toxins, chlorine and even soap!

I have lots of trees near my pond and every fall my water turns brown from all the leaves. So I hooked up a mesh bag and filed with activated carbon and within a few days my water was much better. within two weeks my water was completely clear.

Put about 10 lbs of this stuff in my diy filter drum to remove DOCS and brown tint in water. Clears up the water fast and no more smelly water. Must be replaced after a few months of use and at this rate it does get expensive. Good for what its worth
