Here is a pump that's perfect for a pond up to 5000 gallons, running on low speed at 2.6 amps means you're not using very much electricity but, still flowing 2400 gallons per hour.

When you need it you have a high speed of 5000 gallons per hour. This is really a great feature to have in reserve, use high for backwashing of filters or kick it into high to make your waterfall really roar!

I really like the two speed option on this pump. The high speed uses way too much electricity though, I was out of town and my neighbor watching the pond left it on high for over a week and my bill was $100 higher that month. But its great to have it on high for cleaning out the filter and for parties and such. The rest of the time its on the low speed.

I rebuilt a customers pond and they already had one of these installed. I reinstalled it and it seemed to be a very good pump. Quiet and gave good flow. They had it installed outdoors and uncovered for several years and it was still working very well.
